TIME TEST 2023/24

YOUR OPPORTUNIY TO BREED TO THE BEST

It is little wonder that breeders the world over have afforded Time Test a royal welcome since his retirement to stud.

And its little exaggeration to say that Time Test has quickly lived up to those expectations and some, being the leading European first season sire in 2021 with four individual stakes winners and having three runners in New Zealand’s richest race, the 2022 Karaka Million for two-year-olds.

Leading European First Season Sire
for 2-Year-Old Black Type Winners

“Time Test is one of the talking horses at the moment, and he has got off to a great start.” said leading Irish trainer and breeder Jim Bolger.

From limited numbers to date his SH runners, whose oldest are three-year-olds, include the stakes winner Leedox and the stakes placed The Years, Running On Time, Madame Giselle and Timeless. Significantly three of those stakes’ performers have come in four weeks in April 2023 including the Australian Group 3 placed The Years and the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas runner-up Running on Time.

Leading Australian trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, trainers of the stakes placed Running On Time have recently acquired the promising Time Test filly Elsie May who was previously trained by Brian and Shane Anderton.

With a peerless pedigree matched by his looks and multiple Group victories on his CV, he has been very popular in the early stages of his career both at the English National Stud and at Little Avondale Stud.

THREE NEW AUSTRALASIAN STAKES PERFORMERS APRIL 2023

The quality of his first foals and yearlings combined with the immediate impact of his first European runners have seen the book full sign up at Little Avondale for the last two seasons while at the National Stud he served his largest book yet of 160 mares in 2021 including 60 black type performers

As the only son of the legendary and hugely influential Dubawi at stud in New Zealand, he offers breeders unique opportunities to tap into the best bloodlines on offer.

Time Test is out of the Group One winning Dansili mare Passage Of Time and a family littered with winners to the highest level, including the multiple Group One winners Twice Over and Banshee Breeze and All At Sea, also successful at the highest level.

At his second 3YO start, he broke the Royal Ascot 2000m
track record.

Son of Dubawi
the most pre-potent stakes producing stallion
in the world today

As is the European custom, Time Test was the lightly-raced winner of six races, including a brace of Group Two victories and was a Group One placegetter in his native England and in North America.

Successful as a 2YO, he broke the Royal Ascot  track record track record over 2000 metres at his second start the following season before firmly establishing himself among the elite level European gallopers. His deeds earned him a Timeform rating of 125.

“Time Test blew away the opposition at Royal Ascot as a three-year-old. Speed and acceleration were his main assets,” his famed trainer Roger Charlton said.

Bred and raced by Prince Kallid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms, Time Test was effective in top company from 1400 to 2000 metres and was blessed with what all breeders clamour for, a lightning turn of foot.

“Time Test blew away the opposition at Royal Ascot as a 3YO.
Speed and acceleration were his main assets.”

Along with Galileo, Time Test’s sire Dubawi, a great grandson of the legendary Mr Prospector, is globally acknowledged as the most pre-potent stakes producing stallion in the world today.

Dubawi’s sire sons already include Makfi (43 stakes winners), Night of Thunder (27), Poet’s Voice (23) and the up-and-coming New Bay and Zarak.

Consistency, adaptability, toughness and the ability to quicken off a good tempo are all attributes apparent in progeny that have given Time Test such an incredible start to his career, which include the stakes performers:

Given his profile the best of his progeny wasn't expected to be seen until they were Autumn three-year-olds which has come to fruition. Time Test is well on the way and has built a great start to joining the rarafied ranks of NZ's  joining the rarefied ranks of NZ’s leading stallions.
