Collar Rewarding Connections

The LA and bred Collar (O’Reilly-Laebeel by Zabeel) who took his stake earnings to nearly AUS $300,000 with his latest win in Sydney over 1600m last week was bought from our 2010 Sydney Easter draft.

With her thunder sky black colour and impressive physique the Jim Barlow and Tony Joyce bred Cruz By (Pentire-Cruz Control by Centaine) had a lot of admirers at the 2012 Karaka Premier Sale. Eventually selling for $270,000, the now four-year-old mare looks to be regaining some of the form that had her racing in black-type events last season going by her latest win over 1650m in Brisbane last week.

The Coupland family raced and LA bred Rivertaine Coup (Pins-Rivertaine by Centaine) returned to the winners circle down south last Friday. Fittingly co-trainer Michael Pitman has earmarked the family sponsored Group 2 Couplands Mile in the spring as a target for the four-win mare.

Progressive four-year-old Kareem’s Edge (Nadeem-Karamah by Unfuwain) looks capable of emulating the deeds of his year older full brother Kareeming, judging by his performance to lump 60kgs to victory in NSW last Friday. Kareeming, a winner of nearly AUS$200,000, is one of the more promising staying horses in Victoria.

Zac Gallant (Darci Brahma-Clermont Rose by Sound Reason), who broke through for a win over 1000m in Singapore on Friday, was bred by LA and sold from the Lyndhurst draft at the 2011 Ready To Run Sale.
