LA Clients Run Of Form Continues

Lord Barrington’s (Darci Brahma-Della Lobra by Stravinsky) win at Caulfield on Saturday continued the fine run of form by horses bred by our clients and good friends, the Gilbert’s.

Bought from our 2013 Karaka Premier draft by the astute Paul Moroney, the consistent 5YO has struck a rich vein of form with Saturday’s win capping a five start run in which the Mike Moroney trained gelding hasn’t finished further back than third. Della Lobra foaled a Per Incanto colt on 22nd August.

The Gilbert’s, together with Wes Van Der Sheer, are eagerly awaiting the first foal of their outstanding racemare Xanadu (Elusive City-Forest Dream by Forest Glow). The LA bred dual Group 1 winner is due to foal to Ocean Park.

Bred by LA and Don Gordon, All Roads (Road To Rock-Dancing Daze by Dance Floor)showed why he’s regarded as one of the exciting intermediate grade gallopers in the north with another dominant winning performance at Ruakaka on Saturday. The 5YO, another member of our 2013 Karaka draft, was recording his third win from his last four starts.

Another participant enjoying a good trot is Levin trainer Sylvia Kay and her promising charge Dolcetto (Per Incanto-Our Shiraz by Nediym) looks likely to continue that going by his winning performance over 1400m on Makfi Challenge Stakes day at Hastings on Saturday. Coming off a last start Woodville success, where he was part of a treble of winners for Per Incanto, the 4YO gelding defied a typically strong special conditions field at Hastings to win nicely.

A real sense of stockmanship and a love of the animal. When our mares arrive back from LA, they look like they’ve had a month at Club Med, with some of the trimmings of the buffet, but also the glow of having had the attention of a personal trainer
