Two lightly raced 3YO's with LA connections recorded stakes placings at Hastings and Riccarton on Saturday.
Bourbonaire (Darci Brahma-Star Guest by Pentire), who was bred by the farm in partnership with Christine and Pete Algie, was beaten a nose in the 1400m Group 2 Dundeel at Arrowfield Hawkes Bay Guineas. The colt was a $120k purchase from LA’s 2019 Karaka Book1 draft by Stephen Marsh Racing for American investors headed-up by Dennis Foster.
The top priced lot at last years South Island Sale, Stella Creek (Per Incanto-Cherry Creek by Monashee Mountain), added much sought after black-type for her eventual breeding career with her third placing in the 1200m Listed NZB Canterbury Belle Stakes at Riccarton. Bred by Mosgeil’s White Robe Lodge, Stella Creek is Per Incanto’s third new 3YO stakes performer in the last fortnight.
