Just a week after Saracino (Per Incanto-Donna Italia by O’Reilly) almost pulled off the rare feat of a group race victory on debut, his three-quarter paternal brother Incantation (Per Incanto-Venus Bay by O’Reilly) furthered demonstrated the potential of the cross of Per Incanto over a mare by O’Reilly, with an impressive all the way win in the Maiden 1400m at Otaki on Saturday.
To date Per Incanto has had five progeny from O’Reilly mares to the races. Aside from the afore mentioned, they include this seasons two-year-old stakeswinner Tennessee, Lance Noble’s exciting three-year-old winner Lanciato and Cutting Up Rough, second on debut at Gisborne last Sunday week.
Being our 75th year breeding, Little Avondale are especially pleased to once again sponsor the Lowland Stakes which will be run at Hastings on Wednesday afternoon. This year’s event has bought together one of the strongest fields in many years. It will be an exciting to be in the Bay this week with the Horse of The Year and the races. See you there.
