Sound Lover Legacy Set To Continue

Just a fortnight after the LA bred Magnum (Per Incanto-Sound Lover by Sound Reason) won in Singapore to record 50th individual wins by progeny of his celebrated dam, another son My Quilter (Pins-Sound Lover) has been successful in Brisbane on Saturday over 1640m; his 12th career win taking his stake earnings to $275,000.

New Zealand’s leading first season sire by winners and stakeswinners last term, Per Incanto, has continued his strong start to the new season with his latest winner, three-year-old filly Missy Moo (Per Incanto-Royal Rhythm by Rhythm) impressing with a last to first victory last Thursday at Whanganui. Owners Mike and Bronwyn Griffin secured the filly from Karaka as a yearling for just $500.

Nadeem (Redoutes’s Choice-Candide by Sound Reason) may only have a handful of progeny racing in N.Z but their strike rate is impressive. Real Thirsty managed to go one better than his paternal three-year-old brother Perfect Harmonee’s  (Nadeem-Harmony by Zabeel) second placing in the Listed Whanganui Guineas a fortnight ago, when successful last Friday at Taupo over 1800m. The four-year-old has only finished further back than second, once in his five career starts.
