The evergreen Towkay (Last Tycoon-Princess Tracy by Ahonoora) has shown in recent weeks that his ability to leave genuinely good gallopers hasn’t waned.
On Friday, Paul Belsham’s four-year-old Slazenjah (Towkay-Crisp by Zeditave) scored an authorative victory in the 2100m Waipukurau Cup, and in doing so, setting himself for a tilt at the Group 3 Hawkes Bay Cup on 22 April.
Slazenjah’s win follows that of Christopher and Susannah Grace’s dual stakesplaced mare Waikaha (Towkay-Harinui by Generous) success at Trentham on Oaks Day. Waikaha’s next assignment is likely to be the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha on Easter Saturday.
Towkay’s service fee for 2015 will remain at $5,000 plus GST

Nadeem’s service fee for the 2015 season will be announced next week after discussions with Shadwell in Sydney.
