His 2018 Australian black-type winners Lanciato and Amanaat may be in the spelling paddock but the recent performances of the LA bred 4YO Mohaka River (Per Incanto-Rivertaine by Centaine), who won his fourth race from his last five starts when successful over 1600m in Queensland on Saturday, continue to maintain Per Incanto’s high profile across the Tasman.
Domestically, Per Incanto’s pursuit of Iffraaj for third place on the NZ Sires Premiership for individual winners took another step in the right direction with the well deserved maiden success of Mauna Kea (Per Incanto-City Class Rose by City on the Hill) over 1600m at Hawera on Sunday. Per Incanto’s 44 individual winners to date is four off Haunui’s champion shuttle stallion.
In Singapore on Saturday, Freddy Lad (Per Incanto-Tap n Gap by Spectatorial), who looked promising winning two races from a handful of starts late last year for Opaki trainer Stacey Dougan, was victorious over 1200m. While in a big night of action in Hong Kong on Sunday, last season’s impressive Taupo trial winner Honest Way (Per Incanto-Our Foil by Danzero) opened his Hong Kong winning account with success over 1200m, giving Per Incanto winners in four countries across the weekend.
