A dream result for LA in Singapore on Sunday 30th when the Michael Freedman trained, Magnum (Per Incanto-Sound Lover by Sound Reason), was victorious over 1100m.
The only Per Incanto in last year’s Karaka Premier Sale, and the final foal from this very successful dam, the striking black colt certainly had big shoes to fill.
Despite being posted wide throughout, and again showing some of the greenness he displayed when second on debut a fortnight prior, Magnum asserted his superiority to win stylishly.
Magnum’s victory was the 50th win by progeny of Sound Lover and also gave her the very rare distinction of having all of her 11 progeny to have raced, win. Included amongst those winners are stakeswinners Philosophe, Men At Work and Sir Lovesalot.
Magnum is raced by a syndicate that includes LA and Ben Falloon, Michael and Nicky Wallace, David Wallace, Jason Fleming, Johnnie Walker, Justin Knight and Peter Taylor.
