Another Debut Winner

Right Hammar (Nadeem – Saraama by Kings Best) who made a winning debut when successful over 1000m in Western Australia last week is yet another winner for his sire featuring a duplication of the half brothers Never Bend and Bold Reason, with Never Bend carried through the female side via Last Tycoon – O’Reilly and Towkay are sons of Last Tycoon.

Consistent mare Edge of Glory (Towkay – Wooden Doll by Woodborough) scored a tough win over 1400m at Woodville last Thursday, adding to the good run of form being enjoyed by her trainer and part-owner Karen Zimmerman.

Judging by recent trial results there looks to be no shortage of un-raced talent set to add to the impressive start made by Per Incanto (Street Cry – Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge), whose only two runners to the races to date are the unbeaten Hocus Pocus and the place-getter Danacanto.  All LA eyes will be on Hocus Pocus in the Wellesley Stakes at Wellington this Saturday.

The Lowell Goddard bred Rocanto  (Per Incanto – Romantic Liaisons by King of Kings) clocked easily the fastest time of four juvenile heats at the Waipa trials last Tuesday while the LA bred Dal Cielo (Per Incanto – Cent From Heaven by Centaine) will look to frank his outstanding recent trial win at Avondale when he debuts at Christchurch this Saturday.

Per Incanto has nine two-year-olds entered for the National Ready to Run Sale at Karaka on 19 and 20 November.
