Another LA Karaka Graduate In Thick Of Black-Type Action

New York Minute (Iffraaj-Zeno Queen by Zeno Rob Roy)continued the good recent Pattern form of horses bought from LA’s Karaka drafts with her second placing in the 1400m Listed Seeka Classic at Tauranga on Saturday.  The Christopher Grace bred Hard Merchandize, winner of the Listed John Turkington Forestry Castletown Stakes earlier this month, was purchased from LA’s 2016 Karaka Select Sale draft.

Bred by the Spyglass Hill Syndicate, owners of the dual G1 winner Xanadu, New York Minute was purchased by her current connections from the LA draft at the 2013 Karaka Weanling Sale. Saturday’s effort was the four-year-old mares third black-type placing.

Meanwhile Per Incanto’s oldest crop 4YO statistics got a further boost with the maiden wins last week by Kowhai Kerry (Per Incanto- Retrieved by Kessem) at Oamaru and the LA bred Assergi (Per Incanto-Silk Spur by Rusty Spur) in Australia. From 88 runners to date from 103 live foals, Per Incanto already has 56 individual winners for an impressive winners to runners ratio of over 63%.

Buzz’s crazy ads, but on a slightly more serious note, how the family have continued to produce sound, genuine and class performers is testimony to the family and their staffs dedication and horsemanship.
