Another Premier Meeting Succes For Towkay

L’Amour (Towkay-Penthouse Blue) took her earnings through the $100,000 barrier with a typically courageous performance to land the Graeme Thomsen Antique Jewellery Handicap over 1400m at Trentham on Saturday. The win of L’Amour, her sixth career success, follows the win of the LA and Nicole Smythe bred Viadana (Towkay-Yeah Nah), in the Group Three Eagle Technology Stakes at Ellerslie on the previous Saturday.

The LA and Helen Phinney bred Purfect (Keeper-Centaine Gu Li), who was successful over 2200m at last Wednesdays metropolitan card at Warwick Farm, has a half sister by Darci Brahma in our Karaka Premier Sale draft.

Smackdown (Towkay-Black Anna) won over 1300m in Victoria last Sunday, while on the same day Nadiva (Nadeem-Lindsay’s Ring by Magic Ring) won over 1400m in South Australia.

There were mixed emotions around the television at home on Sunday night when the NZ bred Ambitious Dragon by Pins collared Glorious Days (Hussonet-San Century) in the closing stages to land the Group One Hong Mile. Glorious Day’s is from the wonderful LAfamily of Sandarac/Sellou/Sanderae. Earlier in the afternoon the LA bred Phoneix Tycoon (Written Tycoon-Bondi Beauty), who is from a half sister to the dam of Glorious Days and whom we sold from our 2010 Karaka Select Draft, won over 1400m at Waipukurau.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the team at Little Avondale for doing another amazing job looking after my mare and bringing her precious foal safely into the world. Always such a relief knowing they will have the best of care with you!
