Warrnambool proved to be a happy hunting ground for the well-bred Little Avondale graduate Captain Redbeard who broke his maiden there over 1400 metres to add to the family roll of honour.
The Ciaron Maher-trained Per Incanto 4YO is a brother to the G1 Levin Classic winner Bonham and recent impressive debut winner Fortunato.
“He’ll take a lot of improvement from that run, he really is a progressive type,” stable representative Nikki White said.
Sold by co-breeder LA for A$200,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Captain Redbeard is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Fortune’s Choice who has a Per Incanto yearling filly and is due to foal to Little Brose.
