Divided Loyalties In Caulfield Event

Nadeem Lass’s (Nadeem-Danrego by Danzero) narrow defeat in Saturday’s Mypunter.com Handicap (1200m) at Caulfield came with slightly divided loyalties as the winner, Beirut (Lohnro by Leica Light by Hennessy), happens to be closely related to a former LAbroodmare, We Leica, dam of this seasons promising Per Incanto three-year-old Director.

LA are breeding from We Leica’s daughter Lucky We Leica, a half sister to Beirut’s dam, and her first foal, an unnamed two-year-old daughter of Pins, was runner-up to the subsequent Riccarton winner and highly rated filly La Diosa (So You Think) in her only trial in February.

Beirut looks set to target the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield in a fortnight.

Family, our families have done so much together in the industry and sociably, there's not too many industries today that allow you to do that.
