Group 1 Royal Ascot Win for Dubawi Sireline
Carolinae’s (Makfi-You Too by Monsun) win in a listed seven furlong event in England on Wednesday gave her sire Makfi (Dubawi-Dhelaal by Green Desert) his 25th individual stakes winner however it was another son of Dubawi, Poet’s Voice (Dubawi-Bright Tiara by Chiefs Crown) who took the honours for the sire line this week when his 5YO son Poet’s Word (Poet’s Voice-Whirley Bird by Nashwan)took out the Group 1 2000m Prince of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot, defeating the highest rated horse in Europe this year Cracksman (Frankel).
Poet’s Word’s success in the feature event on the first day of Royal Ascot was due reward for the entires consistent performances against the best middle distance in Europe this year, and came co-incidentally off the back of a last start win in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes, a race won by Little Avondale’s latest sire acquisition, Dubawi’s dual Group 2 winning son, Time Test (Dubawi-Passage of Time by Dansili), who will stand his first season at LA this spring for a service fee of $10,000 plus GST and with a LFG.
