Per Incanto's 13th individual stakeswinner and second at the elite level was achieved in spectacular fashion yesterday as his wonderfully genuine mare Santa Monica(Per Incanto-Monarch by Volksraad) stormed home from midfield on the home turn to win the Group 1 Sistema Railway at Ellerslie.
Competitive all year against the best sprinters and a regular in the fastest sectionals column, the Stephen Ralph trained mare was a deserved winner of the time honoured sprint for her owners Stuart and Cherie Hope.
Santa Monica's Group 1 victory capped an incredible two weeks for Per Incanto during which he's had seven black type performances from Shadows Cast, Dolcetto, Indecision,Rocanto, Magnum, and More Than Lucky in Hong Kong last night.
