Last season’s dual Guineas winner Lightning Jack (Per Incanto- La Petite by Savabeel) is likely to head straight to the Group 2 Couplands Mile following his impressive win in the Paul Brand Pendene Open 1600m at Ashburton on Sunday.
The 4YO Per Incanto gelding who closed off an impressive 3YO season with a third placing in the Group 2 Wellington Guineas was second-up after resuming over an unsuitable 1200m earlier this month.
Lightning Jack, who was bred by Gloria Kenny and the estate of Jack Georgetti, was bought by his trainers Kelvin and Aimee Tyler for $8,000 at the 2018 NZB May Sale.
