Group One Double For LA Breds

With the empty champagne bottles still in the recycling bin following Xanadu’s (Elusive City – Forest Dream)win in the Gr.1 Fiber Fresh NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes, Viadana (Towkay – Yeah Nah) registered the second Gr.1 victory by a farm bred in a week with her win in the $200,000 Gr.1 Manco Easter Handicap at Ellerslie on Saturday. Patiently ridden by Mark Du Plessis, the Lance Noble trained 5YO mare was able to use her trademark turn of foot at just the right moment to land the time honoured handicap.

Viadana who was bought from our 2009 Karaka Yearling Sale Select draft by Lance for $25,000 is the third individual Gr.1 one winner sired by Towkay. We have a yearling full brother to Viadana at home on the farm who is likely to head to the Ready to Run Sale later this year.

Towkay mare Lok’N’ Kay (Towkay – Security by Grosvenor) made it a double for her sire at the Ellerslie Premier meeting when she took out a R65 event over 1600m.

Local bloodstock agent Bruce Perry bred and shares in the ownership of Saturday’s Trentham winner Legal Advice (Zed-Springvale Lass by Magic Ring).

It was exciting to be part of last week’s incredible Sydney Easter Yearling Sales. Paul Moroney Bloodstock purchased our Pins – Kurabeel colt and Queensland’s Neil Jenkinson bought our Pins – Generous Nature filly; we wish you every success with your purchases guys.
