Impressive Debut By LA Graduate

The Block Partnership bred 2YO Lord Barrington (Darci Brahma-Della Lobra by Stravinsky) who created such an impression when winning on debut in Victoria last Thursday for trainer Mike Moroney was purchased from our 2013 Karaka Premier draft by Mike’s brother Paul. Wexford Stables bought the half- brother by Showcasing from us at Karaka this year.

Hot Shoe Shuffln (Towkay-Maximite by Yeats) who had one start in N.Z as a 2YO for one win from the John Bary stable, registered his first Australian success when he won in Victoria on Saturday over 1600m.

Speedygonzalez (Towkay-Positive Energy), who looked very promising when racing from the Graham Richardson stable two seasons ago, took a while to acclimatise to Hong Kong but has gone through the grades like his cartoon namesake in recent months; his latest success over 1200m on 7 May is his fifth win for the season which ties him with two other gallopers for the most wins in Hong Kong.

The form of Speedygonzalez and others has Towkay sitting in 11th place on the Hong Kong Sires Premiership. The only two N.Z domiciled sires above him are Pins in 10th and O’Reilly in 9th.
