LA Bred Debuts In Style

Unbeaten at the trials this season and carrying the weight of expectation from the bevy of friends and family who are part of our LA North and South Syndicate, the LA bred Alchemy’s Flight (Darci Brahma-Eloa by Volksraad) opened her career in fine style taking the 1200m Te Akau Supports Dave Smith Maiden at Te Rapa last Thursday.

We have a yearling half brother to Alchemy’s Flight by Zabeel in our Karaka Premier draft this summer and their dam, the Group 3 Gold Trail Stakes winner Eloa is set to foal to Savabeel this spring.

The feature card in Singapore over the weekend included a win by the promising Towkay three-year-old Cheetah King (Towkay-Jabeske by Prized), who took out a WFA race for two and three-year-olds over 1400m. The gelding whom we sold from our 2012 Karaka Select draft to Prima Park Bloodstock was bred by John Gilbert a part owner of the Group 1 winning LA bred mare Xanadu.

And it would not be a week in Australia without a couple of winners by Nadeem. His latest success coming courtesy of Glenaroua (Nadeem-Toccae by Machiavellian) over 1666m in Queensland last Friday.

Best of luck to Don Gordon and his charge Survived (Zed-Liberal by Generous) who will endeavour to keep their Hastings Triple Crown hopes alive this Saturday with another Group 1 success this time in the 1600m Group 1 Windsor Park Plate.
