LA Broodmares Gain More Black Type

Cent from Heaven (Centaine-Logical Miss) and Rivertaine (Centaine-River Century) have fashioned excellent records as broodmares and their progeny are well sought after in the sale ring however last weekends results bought more black type onto their K1 pedigree pages.

Locally Alamosa (O Reilly-Lodore Mystic) was much too good for his three-year-old rivals in Saturdays Group 2 Avondale Guineas at 1600m. Lodore Mystic was bred by LA and we retain her full sister Cent From Heaven who has a very nice Pins filly foal at foot. Eloa(Volksraad-Cent From Heaven), winner of the Group 3 Highview Stakes at 3 and also owned by the stud, recently delivered her first foal, a filly by Golden Slipper winner Stratum.

2006-07 Mercedes NZ Broodmare of the Year River Century - dam of Saturdays Group One Kingston Town Classic runner-up Guyno - is a sister to LA broodmare Rivertaine.Rivertaine, dam of stakes performer Regency Horse, was represented on Sundays International Day undercard in Hong Kong by her son O Reilly Rally(pictured above as a yearling). Giving the winner 5 kilograms O Reilly Rally (O Reilly-Rivertaine) ran a close second. Third in the same race was another LA bred in Special Days (pictured right) (Keeper-Eva's Belle). Rivertaine has a Pins filly foal at foot.

Towkay progeny had a successful day at last weeks Wanganui trials with 2 seconds and a win by the Kevin Gray trained three-year-old filly Coppertone (Towkay-Follow the Sun). Clermont Princess (Towkay-Clermont Rose), runner up in a two-year heat, was a $135,000 purchase by John Wheeler at this year's Karaka Select Yearling Sale.

Clermont Rose
is the dam of Grand Dancer one of the early favourites for next years New Zealand Derby. LA put forward a Towkay colt from Clermont Lass (dam of Clermont Rose) at this January's Karaka Premier Sale   The top priced Towkay at this years Karaka Yearling Sales Series was resold at Saturdays International Sale in Hong Kong for $800,000 (NZD)! The gelding from Centaine mare Gaysutina, was a $270,000 purchase by the Hong Kong Jockey Club from the LA draft back in January. We sell a full sister at Karaka in the Select Sale in February.
