LA Karaka Graduate Scores at Pukekohe

The inform pairing of Wexford Stables and ridder Warren Kennedy combined to see a timely return to form by the LA bred Karman Line (Myboycharlie-World Away by Pierro) at Pukekohe on New Years Day.

A brilliant debut winner who capped a promising first campaign with a third placing in the Listed Karaka Mile, Karman Line, as a lot of fillies are prone to do, didn’t quite recapture the same level of form at four. A flood of late money for her five-year-old debut at Pukekohe, the Warren Kennedy factor aside, obviously pointed to more confidence in the camp and the mare scored nicely over the 1400m trip.

Karman Line was a $14,000 purchase from the LA draft at the 2019 National Weanling Sale.

World Away, the dam of Karman Line, has proven to be an inspired purchase from the Sydney Easter Broodmare Sale. After leaving Karman Line, the Pierro mare then left the Per Incanto mare Alexnadra Quick, who is unbeaten at her only start, followed by a two-year-old Exceedance filly who is in work with Wexford Stables. World Away has a yearling Per Incanto colt who will be sold at Sydney Easter.

LA has 24 yearlings catalogued for Karaka Book 1 and 15 for Book 2. Book 1 commences on 28 January.
