Little Avondale are once again delighted to sponsor the Group 3 Little Avondale Lowland Stakes and the Per Incanto Three-Year-Old at the Hawkes Bay Racing Club’s twilight meeting at Hastings this Thursday.
During her short racing career the Bart Cummings trained Lowland established herself as the premier staying female of her year capturing the AJC Oaks before further Group 1 success at four in the Underwood Stakes, Sydney Cup and AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Bred by Nancy and Alistair Williams, Lowland was a true homebred, by the outstanding Te Parae stallion Agricola, from the Sabaean mare Impeccable. Raced on lease by clients of Bart Cummings, Lowland was returned to Masterton for her broodmare career.
LA have taken a great deal of satisfaction from seeing the Group 3 Lowland Stakes develop into the key lead-up to the Group 1 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai New Zealand Oaks and deliver recent winners of the calibre of Bonneval, Sofia Rosa, Platinum Witness and Planet Rock. Truly befitting of a race named in honour of such an outstanding staying female.
