Towkay’s three-year-old crop continues to shine with Michael (Towkay-La Grandezza by Flying Spur) the latest winner, over 1600m in Singapore on Saturday evening. Bred by John, John and Mark Carter along with T Cheetham, the gelding was sold from our 2010 Karaka Select Draft.
Three year-old filly Chicharita’s (Towkay-Trisynd) win in the Group Two Royal Stakes on New Year’s Day has lifted Towkay inside the top 20 stallions on the Sires Premiership.
LA has an outstanding draft of Towkay yearlings for Karaka, highlighted by half brothers to two leading Hong Kong performers: Lot 110 from Centaine Gu Li, is a half brother to the Group Two winner More Bountiful; and Lot 542 from Zalass, is a half brother to Goodview Successor, the winner of three races in Hong Kong and a close second at Sha Tin at his most recent start.
We look forward to seeing you at our yearling parade this Sunday 15 January commencing at 10.30am, where you can see all of our 28 yearlings heading to Karaka. Leading stallions Pins, O’Reilly, High Chaparral, Pentire, Stravinsky, Thorn Park, Darci Brahma, Savabeel and Towkay are all represented as are yearlings by exciting first season sire Alamosa.
