Multiple Karaka Million Success for LA

Twelve months on from Avonallo, a horse bred, raised at LA and placed in the Karaka Million, LA have repeated the achievement with exciting filly Karman Line running 3rd in the 3YO Million Classic at Ellerslie on Saturday.

Karman Line, a $14,000 purchase from LA’s 2019 National Weanling Sale draft, finished powerfully in the high-pressure 1600m event, a good sign as she embarks on an Oaks and Derby path with trainer Lance O’Sullivan.

Earlier in the evening, the LA bred and part owned Time Flies, one of three runners in the race for exciting sire Time Test, was a gallant fourth in the Karaka Million.

Just a week after a nose came between the Per Incanto mare Roch ‘N’ Horse and Group 1 success, the same margin denied progressive mare Faithful Feat (Per Incanto-On Yer Feet by Snitzel) Group 2 honours in the 1400 m Westbury Classic. For good measure Per Incanto supplied the 3rd place getter in the race, One More Time.

Per Incanto also supplied the winners of both open handicaps at Trentham on Saturday. With five wins and three seconds across her last 10 starts, it would be hard to find a more progressive sprinter miler in the Central Districts than David Woodhouse’s mare Belclare, who was at it again at Trentham winning over 1400m. Former Hong Kong class 1 galloper Time To Celebrate landed the open 1600m race.

Per Incanto's increasing prominence on the major metropolitan tracks of Australasia was again evident on Saturday with his son Shadow Crush winning over 1100m at Randwick.
