Nadeem Equals Snitzel

Sterling City (Nadeem-So Gorgeous by Brief Truce) capped a tremendous few days for his sire when he stormed home to win the final Group race of the Hong Kong season, the 1400m Gr.3 Premier Cup on Sunday. Adding further merit to the performance was his time of 1.20.72. The win was his fifth in 14 career starts. Nadeem now equals Snitzel, Australia's Champion third season sire, with 8 stakes winners at the same stage in his career. PHOTO Woody Leung.

Earlier on the same Sha Tin card, Namjong Turbo (Nadeem-Fine Return by High Yield ) was a three length winner over 1800m.

Hong Kong wasn’t the only venue in Asia on Sunday where Nadeem was leaving his mark; in Singapore his 4YO son Exquisitely Sweet (Nadeem – Empirical by Woodman ) was winning over 1400m.

The day before in Melbourne had seen Nadeem Lass (Nadeem-Danrego by Danzero) successful over 1200m while his two-year-old filly Il Mio Destino (Nadeem-Floribunda by Brief Truce) won a 2YO race in Sydney on Wednesday.

As far as types of yearlings go they don’t come much better than the Iffraaj – Windsorclass colt we sold on behalf of his breeder S. Wilson at the 2010 Karaka Select Sale. Racing as Caitlin’s Spirit, the 3YO gelding won his third race from 15 career starts when successful over 1200m in Adelaide on Saturday for young Victorian trainer Stephen Theodore.

The LA bred My Quilter’s (Pins-Sound Lover) win in the 1200m Kilcoy Cup in Queensland on Saturday was the 5YO gelding’s fifth career success.

Saturday’s impressive Awapuni winner Pencuri (Zed – Steal a Fortune) may head to Melbourne for a winter campaign. The 4YO gelding who was resuming from a 12 month break came from second last at the 600m to win going away by two and a half lengths.

Organised and professional.
