Nadeem's Emerging Hong Kong Sprinter

Displaying his trademark home straight acceleration, Sterling City (Nadeem-So Gorgeous) beat a strong Class 3 field over 1200m at Sha Tin on Sunday and in doing so registered his third win from just seven career starts. Included amongst the beaten brigade were the short priced favourite The Peak, a horse widely regarded as one of the most promising gallopers in Hong Kong, and former New Zealand Derby runner-up Corporal Jones.

She may have only finished midfield but there was a lot to like about the resuming run of four-year-old mare Crucial (Nadeem-Dawn Attack by Fantastic Light) in a listed 1400m at Caulfield on Saturday. A group three winner last season over 1800m, Crucial should be well placed in a suitable race over the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

The win of Sterling City capped a good week for the farm in Hong Kong as Real Dragon (Stratum-Maranello Miss), a graduate of our Karaka Festival Sale draft, won over 1650m at Happy Valley last Wednesday.

Golden Tower (Towkay-Capital Gold) made it two wins from his last three starts – he ran second in the other start - with his latest success coming over 1800m in the South Island yesterday.

There was nothing unlucky about the 13th of October for the LA bred Albion (Pins-Rites of Spring) who won over 1300m in Queensland.
