Nadeem Treble

Mujaarib (Nadeem-Mihnah) who won over 1800m at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday remained unbeaten after three starts. His assistant trainer Mathew De Kock commented to journalists post race: “He wasn’t fully wound up today which makes this win really impressive. He’s a little dumb still too, the penny hasn’t dropped, but he showed his class when he was headed and came again, this after being caught wide early. He’s one to watch.”

Mujaarib was bred by Shadwell Stud who own Nadeem and the four-year-old races in the silks of Sheikh Hamdan of Dubai.

Kamarla Rose (Nadeem-Farasha) made an impressive winning debut over 1000m in Victoria last Thursday. The full sister to last season’s Group One 1000 Guineas placegetter Sharnee Rose settled last before getting taken to the extreme outside turning for home where she unleashed a relentless finish to get up in the last stride.

On Saturday Slivovitz (Nadeem-Ripe Plum) scored over 1850m at Newcastle in a $20,000 race.

The 1400m Group 3 Traderacks Stakes at Hastings was a great result for the local racing and breeding community with Wairarapa providing the quinella. Fritzy Boy, who took his stakes earnings to nearly $800,000 with this latest win, is trained just up the road at Opaki by Alby McGregor. Runner-up Aspinal (Pins-Clermont Rose) who is obviously enjoying being in foal to Zabeel is bred and raced by LA.

There was further interest for LA in the big meeting at Hastings in the form of Sacred Falls, such an impressive winner of the Group Two Hawkes Bay Guineas. The unbeaten colts second dam is the LA bred Iguazu, a half sister to Clermont Rose the dam of Aspinal.

Buzz’s crazy ads, but on a slightly more serious note, how the family have continued to produce sound, genuine and class performers is testimony to the family and their staffs dedication and horsemanship.
