It took a last start Group 1 runner-up to deprive Bale Star (Nadeem – Thanksgiving by Generous) a Group 2 victory in the S$300,000 Stewards Cup over 1400m at Kranji in Singapore on Sunday evening. The Nadeem four-year-old was gallant in defeat going down by a length and a half to Group 1 Kris Flyer second place getter Emperor Max in the set weight event sprint.
