Promising Melbourne sprinter Search Squad (Falkirk-Comb The Seas), himself a purchase from our 2011 Weanling Sale draft, won his third race in just seven career starts when successful over 1300m in Melbourne on Saturday, increasing interest in his half brother by Per Incanto who we offer as LOT 259 at the National weanling and Broodmare Sale at Karaka on 12 and 13 May.
Given the reception afforded the first crop yearlings of Per Incanto (Street Cry-Papa Reale by Indian Ridge) at Sydney Classic and Karaka earlier this year by buyers, interest in LOT 259 and the other 12 weanlings by the son of Street Cry that we take to Karaka is bound to be a feature of the weanling section. The acknowledgement of the Street Cry sireline was again in evidence when the Darley sire topped the sire averages amongst all the industry heavyweights at the recent Sydney Easter Yearling Sale.
Other highlights of our Karaka draft, which can be seen in full by clicking on the banner on the homepage, include seven weanlings by Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice – Candide by Sound Reason)who has had such a strong season in Australia and abroad lately;, one of only two Towkay colts in the sale; the first foal by Savabeel from group placed filly Queen of Pop and the first foal by Pins from the Listed Sunline Vase winner A Chance to Dream.
Nadeem’s stakes winning son Specter (Nadeem-Woman in White by Daylami) looks in for a fruitful winter judging by his run for second in the feature handicap in Melbourne on Saturday. At just his second start following a six month spell the five-year-old gelding finished powerfully over the concluding stages of the 1300m contest.
