Per Incanto Arrives and Pedigree Updates for Karaka Sale Yearlings

Our new stallion Per Incanto (Street Cry-Papa Reale) arrived on the farm last week and hasn't disappointed with his athleticism and temperament. Coming out of a harsh Northern Hemisphere winter and restrictive quarantine conditions he's already shown the benefits of his lovely disposition, settling in here like he's been at LA for years.

Per Incanto will be paraded at our annual Yearling Parade here at the farm on Sunday 9 January, which gets underway at 10.30am. It's also an opportunity to see the yearlings before they depart for Karaka later in the month.

LA client Alan Jackson has a lovely athletic O'Reilly filly from his broodmare Oh Blue Angel  - LOT 1073 - in our Karaka Select draft and her half brother Series should have helped add to the interest in the filly, registering his third career win over 1100m in New South Wales last week. Alan sold a Fast N Famous colt from the mare to Roger James at last year's Select Sale for $120,000 and if you need any reassuring as to his ability we suggest you pull Roger aside next time you see him at the races.

With a victory and a second over 1600m at her last two starts the LA bred Stella Bella (Savabeel-Chatto Creek) looks a most promising middle-distance filly for the Lisa Latta stable and with the added benefit of hailing from the super family of He's Remarkable, Leg's and co, her half brother by Towkay €“ LOT 752 €“ should be high on most inspection lists for the Karaka Select Sale.

A couple of promising Towkay three-year-old fillies broke through for well deserved wins over the last fortnight. The John Sargent trained, Barlow Thoroughbreds bred and owned Chennai won her maiden nicely over 1400m at Te Rapa on Saturday 18 December ,following two seconds and a third at her three previous career starts, while L'Amour beat a strong field of older R80 gallopers over1400m at Awapuni on Boxing Day backing up after a sixth place finish in the Group Three Eulogy Stakes at her previous start.

The LA bred and owned Bellabaci (Zabeel-Sound Lover) pictured right courtesy of www.slickpix.com.au capped an exciting fortnight for the farm when she won over 2100m at Sandown in Melbourne on 22 December. Good enough to run second to Precedence over ground at the end of her three-year-old autumn campaign, time has always looked like it would be the Danny O'Brien trained mares best friend and it would be fantastic for all connections if she could pick-up some black-type in the New Year before heading back to our paddocks for a breeding career.
