Per Incanto Mare Set Stakes Targets

Co trainer Peter Williams has black-type targets in mind for his promising charge Marzemino (Per Incanto-Florimont by Pins) after the Per Incanto mare showed her versatility, producing a short sharp sprint to win over 1200m at Ellerslie On Saturday.

The Haunui Farm co bred and part owned mares latest success is her third in six starts and she remains unbeaten this preparation following an all the way win by four and a half lengths at her seasonal re appearance.

While Marzemino would have been unlucky not to have won after being held-up for a significant part of the Ellerslie straight, few would have begrudged a win to runner-up, fellow Per Incanto 4YO mare Short Fuse (Per Incanto-Only Explosive by One Cool Cat), who has now recorded seven seconds to go along with two wins in a 17 start career.

The likes of Marzemino and Short Fuse along with the recent stakes performances from mares Indecision and Santa Monica reinforce the quality of Per Incanto’s fillies, two of which feature in the fillies syndicates LA are currently putting together, more details of which are contained here:
