Per Incantos 25th Stakes Winner

Progressive mare Belclare (Per Incanto-Miss Rhythmic by O’Reilly) appreciated the firm track conditions to comfortably win the Group 3 Valachi Downs Canterbury Breeders Stakes at Riccarton on Wednesday, in turn giving her sire Per Incanto his 25th individual stakes winner.

Bred locally in the Wairarapa's by David Woodhouse and raced by David and his wife Deb, and friends, the 5YO Per Incanto mare has always shown a real turn of foot on a good track, something that has seen her record 5 wins and 2 minor placings from just 9 starts on tracks rated good.

Belclare’s overall record now stands at 7 wins and 4 minor placings from 21 career starts with stake earnings approaching $200k. With her good turn of foot and the propensity for her sire's fairer sex to continue to improve as they age, there is every chance that the Lisa Latta trained mare will add further black type before she retires as a valuable broodmare.

Belclare is the 5th stakes winner by Per Incanto from an O’Reilly mare. Miss Rhythmic is back in foal to Per Incanto in 2022 with a full sibling

Per Incanto has seven lots at next week’s NZB Ready to Run Sale. These include LOT 24, a full brother to the filly Inca Belle who won so well on debut for Te Akau and Fortuna at Pukekohe on Tuesday.
