If there’s a theme to Nadeem’s (Redoute’s Choice-Candide by Sound Reason) twelve stakeswinners, it’s impressive sectionals and a picket fence form-line. All which goes to indicate that this week’s impressive winner Ammirata (Nadeem-Laguna Joe by Dynaformer), could well be a black-type filly in waiting.
Trained by Group 1 conditioner Joe Pride, the three-year-old filly justified her odds on price to run out an easy winner over 1400m at Kembla Grange on Tuesday, and remain unbeaten this preparation. Pride knows a good Nadeem galloper when he saddles one, having the dual stakeswinning Target In Sight (Nadeem-Xaaranthe by Xaar) in his care.
He maybe in the twilight of his siring career but week in week out Towkay comes up with winners across Australasia and South East Asia. Last Wednesday he had a treble of winners at the Happy Valley meeting in Hong Kong. The R. Fauvel and LA bred Idyllic Wind(Towkay-Wake Up Suzie by Hereward The Wake) burnt the turf to win over 1000m, while Hayhay (Towkay-Make Up by Take Your Partner) and Win It (Towkay-Justice Supreme by Justice Prevails) won their respective 1200m and 1650m events.
On Saturday 25th April Towkay had another winner in Macau, Voguish (Towkay – Finnegans Choice) continuing the Asian run.
At Whanganui last Thursday the John Wheeler trained Mendoza (Towkay-Dusky Sound by Sound Reason) returned to form with a strong win over 1360m.
