One’s a recognised blue hen mare, the others well on her way to attaining the status. The immortal Sunbride and the Group 1 winning Oncidium mare Sanderae were at it again at last week’s NZ Cup Carnival, the later result a timely boost ahead of this week’s NZB Ready to Run Sale
Sitting on the sixth line of the female pedigree of the Listed 1000m Pegasus Stakes Handicap winner Casaquinman (Per Incanto-Puan Silk by Towkay) is the 1961 and 1968 NZ Broodmare of the year Sunbride, while VRC Oaks winner Sanderae sits one place further forward in the female pedigree of the Group 3 NZ Cup runner-up Duplicity (Duporth-Bidthemobgooday by Reset).
Sanderae, whose six individual Group 1 winning descendants to date include this years AJC Derby victor Levendi, is the fourth dam of LOT 387 at the RTR Sale. Presented by Kilgravin Lodge on LA’s behalf, the black or brown filly is by the outstanding filly sire Showcasing.
