Stakes Race Puts Faces On LA Weanling Drafts

The result of the Listed O’Leary Stakes at Wanganui on Saturday has once again highlighted the value found in LA’s National Weanling Sale drafts with the winner It’s Time For Magic (Per Incanto-Tick Tock Time by Savabeel) and third place-getter Queen of Zealand (Savabeel-Queen Of Pop by Pins) both bought from our 2014 draft.

It’s Time For Magic who is Per Incanto’s fifth individual stakeswinner and his second this season already, was bred by LA and bought by her Te Awamutu trainer and part owner Robert Priscott for $1,200, while the JML Bloodstock bred Queen of Zealand was comparatively expensive at $15,000.

The Spyglass Hill Syndicate bred New York Minute (Iffraaj- Zeno Queen by Zeno Rob Roy) also victorious at Wanganui, her third win from her last four starts, was purchased from our 2013 weanling draft as was last week’s impressive Singapore winner Satellite Man(Per Incanto-Double Okay by Towkay). Both promising gallopers, they have a little way to go to match current 2013 alumni standout, Dame Lowell Goddard’s stakeswinner and dual Group 1 placed performer Rocanto (Per Incanto-Romantic Liaisons by Danasinga).

And to round out a good Saturday for the farm, the LA bred Vantaa (Towkay-Heureka by Yamanin Vital) took out the last race at Riccarton.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the team at Little Avondale for doing another amazing job looking after my mare and bringing her precious foal safely into the world. Always such a relief knowing they will have the best of care with you!
