Saint Emilion (Mastercraftsman-Roseario by Pentire) capped a productive week for horses who have been part of LA Karaka Yearling Sale drafts when successful in the Group 3 OMF Stakes at Ellerslie on Melbourne Cup day. Passed in just shy of his reserve when part of our 2013 Karaka Select draft, Saint Emilion is raced by the estate of his breeder, Robin Horton.
Hard Merchandize (Burgundy-Pride and Passion by Encosta De Lago) who won the 2YO race at Otaki on Tuesday, at his first start, was bred by Christopher Grace and bought by his trainer Gary Vile for $38,000 from our 2016 Karaka Select draft.
The Lorraine Jameson bred Hopetoun (Pins-Ciara by O’Reilly) recorded her fourth career victory and her second in succession with her latest win in Perth last Thursday over 1400m. Hopetoun was purchased by John Chalmers from our 2013 Karaka Select draft.
Nadeem’s had a serious fortnight in Australia racking up six individual winners, the latest of which was Nadeem’s Melody (Nadeem-Hawaiian Melody), successful over 1000m in Victoria on Thursday.
Per Incanto’s steady stream of domestic winners continues unabated. Mia Mamma’s (Per Incanto- Really Explosive by O’Reilly) four and a half length winner success at Wingatui on Melbourne Cup day was timely as the 4YO mare is closely related to LOT 202 at this month’s RTR Sale, a Darci Brahma colt owned by LA in partnership with Explosive Breeding, the breeders and owners of Mia Mamma.
Missy Moo (Per Incanto-Royal Rhythm by Rhythm) and Cutting Up Rough (Per Incanto-Lutine Belle by O’Reilly) were successful in their respective assignments at Otaki and New Plymouth over the last week.
