Marotiri Molly (Per Incanto- Marotiri Miss by Al Akbar) continued her rise through the ranks of the CD’s sprinter/milers when she accounted for her open class opponents over 1400m at Trentham on Saturday.
Raced by her breeders Bevan and Christine Parlato, Marotiri Molly has now won five of her ten starts, and just over $120k in prizemoney.
Across the Tasman, Jimmysstar (Per Incanto- Anniesstar by Zed) continued his programme towards his principal spring target, the Group 1 Rupert Clarke Stakes, after producing a strong finish to run second in the 1400m Gr.2 Damien Oliver on Derby Day at Flemington.
Up in Sydney, the progressive Rolling Magic (Per Incanto – Not A Jaffa by Iffraaj) made an auspicious fist of his first metropolitan run when finishing a close third in a 1400m $500k event at Rosehill. Bred by John and Elizabeth Anderson, who retains an interest in the four-year-old gelding, Rolling Magic was coming off three consecutive provincial wins.
Per Incanto’s other runner at Rosehill on Saturday was the four-year-old Allapercanto (Per Incanto- Allawara by Von Costa De Hero). The Blossom Trading and Breeding Company bred mare, who was fresh up, looks in for a good campaign after finishing strongly for third despite been held-up slightly when building momentum just before the home turn.
Per Incanto sits inside the top 15 on the Australian Sires premiership, just behind Savabeel.
