Xmas 2YO racing looks to have confirmed starts in the Karaka Million for two LA connected juveniles; while a third, the LA and Stephen Mercer bred Magic Mystery (Per Incanto-Da Vinci Code by Danasinga) still remains an outside chance of crossing the Tasman following an impressive debut in NSW in early December.
The LA bred Nirvana In Fire backed-up an impressive debut success to finish second in the 2YO event at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, while the stakes winning Brown and Fusion Thoroughbreds colt Sir Nate (Nadeem-More Diamonds by No Excuse Needed), sold from the LA draft at the 2017 Karaka Select Sale, may have lost his unbeaten record but will have derived a great deal of benefit for his ultimate goal with a sound fifth place finish in the Group 3 Barneswood Farm Eclipse Stakes, his first run right handed.
Meanwhile Per Incanto closed off 2017 in style with the well deserved win by Neverstopdreaming (Per Incanto-Latino Lady by Spartacus) at Stratford on New Years Eve, the Street Cry sons 99th individual winner and the 64th by a member of his first crop for a winners to runners ratio of an outstanding 72%.
