A quinella in the feature 3YO event at Ruakaka on Saturday capped another successful week Australasia wide for Time Test.
Leedox (x Bella Carolina) and Tough Test Harry (x Megan's Tough Love) fought out the finish of the ITM/GIB Northern Winter Championship over 1400m, with the former, carrying top weight, prevailing courtesy of a top ride from Kozzi Asano. Bred by Mapperley Stud and raced by Lib Petagna's JML Bloodstock, last season’s stakes winning 2YO was coming off an unlucky 2nd placing at his last start.
Also at Ruakaka saw the much-anticipated debut of the Time Test filly Tonia’s Dragon (x Camillino). The unbeaten trialist ran a meritorious 3rd placing in the 2YO event and with race day experience the LA bred filly looks an early winner for the Moroney and Gerard stable.
Metrical (Time Test-Affrettando by Iffraaj) started his Australian campaign with a strong second at Bendigo on Thursday while the LA bred Derozario (Time Test-Pin Up Lae by Pins) debuted with an encouraging third over 1725m at Geelong on Friday. Co-incidentally the Richard McKenzie bred 3YO Metrical won the best-looking Time Test weanling in a competition LA ran in 2020.
