Towkay 3YO Wins At Grafton Cup Carnival

Returning to the track where he had won his penultimate start by over five lengths, Towkay’s impressive sprinting son Splitzer (Towkay-Ulmer) took out a 1200m event on the card of last Thursday’s Grafton Cup.

A $150,000 purchase from the 2010 Karaka Premier Sale, Splitzer is yet another promising type from his sire’s three-year-old crop which where conceived when his stud fee lifted to $10,000 in 2008 and which co-incided with a significant lift in the quality of the broodmare he served. As a well and truly proven sire, Towkay is great value at this seasons fee of $5,000 plus GST.

Faulas (Faltaat-Rose Adagio), who was bought from our 2007 Karaka Carnival Sale draft by Marcus Corban Bloodstock won over 1500m in Australia last week.

A selection of mares by sires Flying Spur, General Nediym and Encosta De Lago arrived at the farm last week from Australia. Owned by Shadwell Stud, the principal partner in our new stallion Nadeem, the mares will be served by Nadeem and Per Incanto this spring.

This Sunday we are looking forward to hosting a group of breeders coming down from the HawkesBayto view Nadeem, Per Incantoand Towkay. Hopefully this wet patch of weather will clear up.

Confidence in knowing that buying an LA product it has being raised properly and with their record of success in black-type racing you have a better than even chance of the horse competing at the pinnacle of Australasian racing
