Towkay Pair In Unique Repeat

Statisticians must have been busy following the remarkable achievement of Towkay full brother and sister Tainui (Towkay-Harinui) and Waikawa (Towkay-Harinui) winning their respective 1400m and 1600m assignments at Hastings on Saturday. The achievement in itself is unique but given that they did exactly the same thing on the middle day of the Wellington Cup Carnival almost defies belief.

The Christopher and Susannah Grace bred pair have now had five starts between them for four wins and a second.

Towkay had a pair of Hong Kong winners last week with Speedygonzalez (Towkay-Luscious Lass) scoring back to back wins with his latest success over 1200m last Thursday, followed on Saturday by impressive four-length victor Win It (Towkay-Justice Supreme). Towkay’s recent results have seen him move into the Hong Kong Top 20 Sires where he joins his LA barnmate Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice-Candide).

Nadeem has been amongst the winners too with Coworth Park (Nadeem-Heart Set by St Covet) winning over 2100m in Queensland for trainer Rob Heathcote last Friday, and Mahbeer (Nadeem-Burleigh Sky) scoring on Monday over 1200m in N.Z.

It was pleasing to see Ambitious Champion (Zed-Simply Sally) produce a glimpse of his best kiwi form when winning over 1600m in Hong Kong on Saturday.

Congratulations to connections of Miss Selby, an impressive winner of The Little Avondale Lowland Stakes at Hastings on Saturday and The Knight’s Queen who took out the Per Incanto at Little Avondale Maiden on the same card.

What an impressive return by the LA bred Savvy Nature (Savabeel-Generous Nature) to run third in the Group 2 Hobartville at Rosehill on Saturday. It augurs well for his prospects in some of the features throughout the Sydney Autumn Carnival, where it’s likely he’ll be joined in action by fellow farm breds Xanadu (Elusive City –Forest Dream) and Viadana (Towkay-Yeah Nah).

Confidence in knowing that buying an LA product it has being raised properly and with their record of success in black-type racing you have a better than even chance of the horse competing at the pinnacle of Australasian racing
