Towkay's Emerging Singapore Star
The recent victory of the Singaporean trained Rocket Man over some of the worlds best sprinters emphasised how far Singaporean racing has progressed in the last few years.
Therefore to win your first four starts in this emerging racing nation makes you a pretty serious racehorse which is the achievement of Ace Aliado (Towkay-Waikawa) whose latest success was over 1200m at Kranji on Sunday night.
Bred by LA client Christopher Grace and sold privately to clients of leading trainer Laurie Laxon, the three-year-old is yet another successful product of mating Towkay to a mare carrying Fair Trial blood, in this case through Dance Floor.
There was further reason for LA to get excited about the latest Kranji results with the win by Dream Key (Deputy Gosvenor-Jabeske). Jabeske, purchased by Bruce Perry Bloodstock from the 2007 National Broodmare Sale for LA client John Gilbert, has a stunning Towkay weanling colt and is in foal to Don Eduardo.
Despite the grim weather on Sunday there was an enthusiastic turnout of clients, visitors and friends at the farms stallion parade and bus tour.
The renovated Trentham barn was a real bonus, enabling everyone to keep dry while sampling Buzz's sausages and Suzie's mulled wine.
Zed's weanlings made a real impact with Sam receiving nine bookings alone on the day and it was hard to knock Sam's claims that Towkay's latest crop are his best yet when viewing the weanling colts out of Auxerre, Jabeske and La Grandezza.
