Three winners on the same card sired by one stallion is a relatively rare achievement. To accomplish it twice within six months takes some doing which is exactly what Per Incanto managed at the Woodville meeting on Wednesday, following an earlier treble at Hastings back in February.
Tony Bambry’s promising filly Enchanting Secret (Per Incanto-Ruling Secret by Viking Ruler) backed-up some super impressive trials form to land the maiden three-year-old fillies’ event by over four lengths.
The next race saw the locally trained mare Malacanto (Per Incanto-Malaya by Towkay) win her second race from just four career starts, when she finished over the top of her Rating 65 rivals.
Another four-year-old, the Slyvia Kay trained gelding Dolcetto (Per Incanto-Our Shiraz by Nediym) then rounded out the treble with a four length win in the Maiden 1200m.
Wednesday’s achievement is a great way for Per Incanto to start the new season as he looks to add further sires premierships to the two three-year-old titles he annexed in 2015/16. What’s more, the fact that two of the Woodville treble are inexperienced four-year-olds certainly adds credence to his stocks ability to train on as older horses.
