Melbourne bound three-year-old Per Incanto colt Saracino (Per Incanto-Bella Daniela by O’Reilly) capped a big 48 hours for his sire when he led all the way to win the 1200m Group 2 Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa on Saturday.
Shedding the title of the best maiden galloper in New Zealand in style, Saracino, who became Per Incanto’s fourth individual stakeswinner with Saturdays emphatic win, is expected to follow a similar path to Per Incanto’s group 1 winner Dal Cielo last season and target the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.
Saracino’s win followed a treble for Per Incanto at Thursday’s Woodville meeting.
And Towkay rounded off a great Saturday for the farm siring a double at the Premier meeting at Riccarton. Backing-up from an easy win on Wednesday, diminutive mare Heni (Towkay-Bahhzaar by Bahhare) ran out a comfortable winner in her open class debut, with trainer Mike Breslin set to give the six-year-old mare her opportunity in upcoming black-type mares events.
