Underrated Per Incanto Galloper Wins Again

Progressive 5YO Mauna Kea (Per Incanto-City Class rose by City On A Hill) looks in for another successful winter and spring campaign going by a gritty fresh-up defeat of his rating 82 opponents over 1600m at Otaki on Friday.

The winner of three and placed twice from seven starts in the first three months of the season, Mauna Kea was spelled after finishing his last campaign with an unplaced effort in the Group 1 Captain Cook Stakes, beaten only 7.2 lengths by the winner Danzdanzdance.

Mauna Kea was bred by PR Sewell and is owned by The Franz Josef Trust, Paul Bardell, Luke Van Tongeren-Costello, Brian O’Dea, Grant Bardell, Paul Moseley, Greg Anderson and Judith Hewitt, with Paul Moseley training the gelding from his Hawera stables.
