Per Incanto Three Year Olds To Fore

If the performances of the two Per Incanto three-year-olds at last week’s Te Teko trials is a guide, then the promise shown by his two-year-olds last season looks set on being realised. Having her first public appearance, the LA and Don Gordon bred three-year-old filly Hot Tempo (Per Incanto-Danse Sauvage by Montjeu), raced on lease by the Forward Pass syndicate and managed by Lance and Tracey Smith circled the field from the 600m to win comfortably.

Earlier on the same trials programme, the un-raced Graham Richardson trained three-year-old filly Precision Miss (Per Incanto-Miss Moneytree by Pins) ran a close third over 830m.

The LA and John Duncan bred Ancient Bull (Darci Brahma-Trigon Lass By Centaine), bought from our 2012 Karaka Premier draft by Brad Spicer, won over 1000m in Melbourne last Wednesday. With a record of three wins and two minor placings from seven career starts the Leon and Troy Corstens trained galloper is shaping as a very useful galloper.

A wide barrier and 59kgs weren’t enough to stop the Block Partnership bred Lord Barrington (Darci Brahma-Della Lobra by Stravinsky) from winning in Victoria on Sunday over 1100m.

Robyn Horton’s estate will have got a deal of satisfaction from the wins of the half brothers Arzak (Towkay-Roseario by Pentire) and Saint Emilion (Mastercraftsman) over the last fortnight.  Bred by Robyn, both gallopers look very promising with Arzak’s latest win his third from his last seven starts and his fourth in total, while Saint Emilion’s winning performance fresh-up is a reminder of the class he showed last season at three when placed behind the likes of McQueen.

Voguish (Towkay-Finnegans Choice by Creese) continued on his winning way in Macau earlier this week, scoring over 1350m.
