Worth the Wait

With the LA brand performing strongly on the track, the television was a strong pull on Saturday afternoon, but staff, friends and family weren’t missing the arrival of LA’s latest stallion Time Test (Dubawi—Passage of Time by Dansili).

Anticipation was high as the Majestic truck pulled in off Morris Road and the audience gathered in the fading light weren’t to be disappointed. Looking remarkably attentive given an eight-hour road trip from Auckland, Time Test, led by Liam Forster his groom from the English National Stud, is as impressive in the flesh as he is in the various media forms.

It’s quickly apparent why he was able to travel so sweetly and accelerate so strongly in his races. He moves very fluidly but also incredibly economically, and unquestionably Per Incanto (Street Cry-Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge) now has a legitimate rival for the best eye and nostril of a stallion to stand at LA.

Time Test will have a relaxing week as he prepares for his first parade this Sunday 5 August at 2pm at LA. Per Incanto and Nadeem will also parade.

In all the build-up and excitement of Time Test’s arrival, Per Incanto achieved another new stakes performer courtesy of Tutta La Classe’s (Per Incanto-Cantsaymydadsname by Almutawkel) third placing in the Listed Ryder Stakes for two-year-olds at Awapuni, while the LA bred and part owned Keep It Savvy (Savabeel-Can’t Keeper Down by Keeper) appreciated the better track conditions and blinkers to win well at the same venue.
