Time Test Thursday this week spotlights an improving filly who showed enough in two starts as a 2YO to suggest she had the talent to make a name for herself once she matured.
The Ballymore Stables trained Tonia’s Dragon (Time Test- Camillino by Per Incanto) debuted as a 2YO running third behind the talented Whiskey Lies before finding the extremely testing conditions beyond her in the Listed Ryder Stakes.
First up this season the filly was running on behind the impressive mare Dazzled, before she led all the way to win over 1200m at Te Aroha a fortnight ago.
From the family of Dal Cielo and Alamosa, Tonia’s Dragon, who was a $100k purchase by Pegasus Bloodstock from the LA draft at the 2022 NZB Karaka Sale, has the pedigree and physical make-up to carry on her winning ways.
