40th Group 1 Winner for Dubawi

There’s no stopping the Dubawi juggernaut. On Sunday night NZ time the grey mare Coronet (Dubawi- Approach by Darshaan) was successful in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud at Saint Cloud; the Darley stallion’s 40th individual Group 1 winner.

Placed seven times at Group 1 level before breaking through at the elite level, Coronet is one of 112 individual group winners by Dubawi, and his 15th individual stakeswinner in 2019, a world leading standard, three ahead of Deep Impact and six ahead of Galileo.

Little Avondale stand the only son of Dubawi at stud in N.Z; the exquisitely bred dual Group 2 and 3 winner Time Test (Dubawi-Passage of Time by Dansili). Time Test’s first S.H foals arrive this spring.

The domestic weekend highlight was undoubtedly Skarloey’s (Per Incanto-Cachette by Kashini) win in the feature sprint at Hastings on Saturday. A 13 length winner at his previous start, the promising four-year-old has now won three of seven starts.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
